Mr. Giganti received a Masters of Science in Biostatistics form the University of Washington-Seattle in 2007, thesis title “Developing a motivation and understanding for Dirichlet Process priors in a nonparametric Bayesian framework”. He is highly skilled with biostatistics computer software including SAS, R, STATA, and S-Plus.
In addition to teaching several courses at SGU, his experience includes a position as a database analyst at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia where he planned and performed multiple statistical analyses based on an electronic medical record database which longitudinally tracks HIV treatment and care experience for over 200,000 patients. Mr. Giganti also has experience as a research assistant at the Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research & Prevention in Seattle, WA, where he assisted with the statistical analysis of various clinical trials from the HIV Vaccine Trials Network.
Mr. Giganti’s research interests include biostatistics, infectious disease epidemiology, HIV/AIDS, and maternal & child health. He is currently a referee for PLoS ONE and Sahara - Journal of Social Aspects of HIV/AIDS Research Alliance.
