Ms. Johnson attended the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, and received a BA, Spanish, in 1997, and a MA, History and Literature of Spain and Latin America, in 1999.

Ms. Johnson joined St. George’s University, School of Medicine, Department of Educational Services, in 2000 as assistant coordinator for the Academic Enhancement Program. In 2001, she served as Coordinator for the Office of Educational Assessment and in 2002 as Instructor, moved to the Specialized English Language Program. She also teaches a Medical Spanish Selective, and coordinates the International Medical Spanish Experience Selective as well. Ms. Johnson has served as Assistant Editor for the SGU Gazette, Chair of Student Academic Affairs, and has served on the Faculty Senate Executive Committee for a year. She is the Faculty Advisor for the Student Government Association.

Some awards received include the Academic Excellence Tuition Waiver, University of Oklahoma, and the Lowell B. Dunham Scholarship.

As a volunteer, Ms. Johnson has provided basic literacy instruction for participants in the Program for Adolescent Mothers in Grenada. Ms. Johnson also has a certificate for her participation in Project Harmony: Dialogue and Community Building in Grenada from the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding.
