On January 18, 2010, St. George’s University’s Centre for Advancing International Management (AIM Centre) officially launched two new MBA programs delivered through an innovative and dynamic online platform. The MBA in Multi-Sector Health Management and the MBA in International Business are the first degrees created and offered exclusively online by St. George’s University. These strategic programs went live at 4:03 pm on January 18th with seamless delivery and active participation from its professional student body.
This exciting new endeavor from St. George’s University’s was initiated by a desire to offer a consolidated, high-level business degree to a wide-range of professionals including doctors, veterinarians, NGO managers, public health professionals, government administrators, community organizers, emergency managers, humanitarian officials from the UN, entrepreneurs, and more.
Thanks to tireless efforts of Dr. Wes Balda, AIM’s Executive Director and numerous faculty and staff from both St. George’s University and the Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation (WINDREF), the Centre’s ambitious creation is now available to a select group of participants worldwide.
The online aspect of each program’s curriculum allows students from all time zones to participate, providing flexibility to their frequently hectic professional and personal lives. Dr. Kristine Kawamura, Associate Professor of Management in St. George’s University Graduate Studies Program, taught the online program from Southern California while students from the UK, Trinidad, St. Vincent, Grenada, across nine time zones actively participated throughout the session.
