SGU/WINDREF Grenada Relief Fund for Haiti

The University's thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti in their time of need. We are facilitating money donations via The Windward Islands Research and Education Foundation. If you wish to make a donation via the University, please make checks payable to the SGU/WINDREF Grenada Relief Fund with the memo "For Haiti 2010" in the memo line. WINDREF has a 501(c) status with the US IRS and all donations are tax-deductible.

Material gifts - clothes, bedding, non-perishable foods and medicines - are being collected at several points on campus and the barrels used for post-Ivan relief are being sent to Haiti. Please mail all donations to:

The outpouring of offers to help are a joyous testament to the human spirit, however, one of Haiti's problems at the moment is one of logistics and the distribution of aid materials. It is better to give a money donation either through WINDREF or an established aid organization (Catholic Relief Services, Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, etc) than to send items to a country struggling with logical and efficient distribution.
