Professor, Biochemistry –School of Medicine

The University is seeking to recruit a professor within the Department of Biochemistry in the School of Medicine.  The successful candidate should be able to take over the role of Department Chair.  The candidate should possess a Ph.D in Biochemistry with an MD.  Postgraduate board certification in Medical Biochemistry would be an advantage.  In addition the candidate should have demonstrated teaching experience of at least 8 years (preferably after obtaining their terminal qualification) in Biochemistry to medical students within a medical school that has a MD (MBBS) program.   Experience in Medical Genetics and Molecular Biology as applied to medicine would be an asset, as well as demonstrated experience in administrative duties, including supervising faculty and laboratory personnel.

The department is responsible for instruction of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Genetics to students in the medical program, premed program and graduate studies programs.
