What is ECT?

The Educational Computing Team (ECT) is the premier source of information technology training at St. George’s University. We offer SGU students, staff, and faculty training in general technology and specific software applications and support academic computing in all University-approved software and hardware.

The Educational Computing Team’s mission is to work collaboratively in providing professional instructional, consulting, and technical service in support of teaching and learning at St. George’s University.

We provide the University community with:

• Training in the latest computer technology
• Efficient, economical instruction through short, non-credit courses
• Knowledgeable, qualified instructors in a supportive learning environment

Services for our Faculty include:

• Training and support in the use of Sakai, our course management software, which we also administer
• Instructional design for both online and face-to-face courses
• Support and training for the latest instructional technology tools
  

Additional services for Administration and Staff include:

• Training in the use of Microsoft Office
• Consultation on special projects
• Instructional design services for training materials or tutorials
